Why is Windows Bad? #
Hello, in this post, I will explain why the Windows operating system is bad. Don’t forget to check out my blog where I talk about the good sides of Linux! Now, let’s move on to this blog. The things I will mention here are completely my personal opinions. Happy reading!
License Key #
You need a license key to use Windows. After a certain period, you’ll see the annoying Activate Windows!
message in the bottom right corner of your screen. And these license key prices are well known. There are certain methods to use it without a license, but these methods are unethical and would turn your computer into someone else’s server, so I will absolutely not mention them.
Security #
Windows security is a big issue. You can catch a virus just by opening any .exe
file. In fact, if we look at the latest news, viruses can even be spread through .docx
files. It’s already a fact that viruses can be spread through .pdf
files. The firewall is like the Tottenham defense line 😃 — it doesn’t work at all. Most of the time, you need to use antivirus programs like Kaspersky, Avast, etc. However, even if they have free plans, they’re insufficient, and they act like a fish that jumps and deletes anything it sees.
App Downloading #
Downloading apps feels like torture. You search the app’s name on the internet, find the official one among a bunch of scam sites, click the download button without clicking any ads, open the downloaded file, and pray that nothing happens. Microsoft Store doesn’t have many apps. The ones that are there are, to put it mildly, abudik gubidik apps.
Terminal and Commands #
There are very few package managers to install apps from the terminal. One is winget
, made by Microsoft (but it has very few apps). Another one is a third-party app called choco
(but use it at your own risk). Also, the commands are difficult to understand. For example, in Linux, mv
means move
. Windows does have some easy commands, but most are difficult, and the syntax is a bit different.
Disk Usage #
Unlike Linux, where all apps use a shared library, Windows apps don’t. For example, if 3 apps use Java, each one downloads its own version of Java. This significantly increases disk usage. And their own apps take up a lot, a lot of space. I won’t even mention the other apps.
Performance #
If your father is rich and financially strong enough to change systems every 3 years, then you’re fine. In systems where Linux runs many apps smoothly, Windows starts to lag when you open two apps. So, I can’t say much more on this. In short:
IT LAGS A LOT
That’s all for this post. I’ll update it as I remember more things 😃. Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
