Anka Browser v1.9.7 #
Anka Browser is my browser project. If you don’t know what it is, you can click on the link to my blog where I introduce it and explain how to install it. You can also find instructions for downloading it on the same link.
This new version introduces several features, taking significant steps toward v2.0.
What’s New? #
Open Your Files and Images #
I’ve added a “File Open” menu to the right-click menu, allowing you to open images, HTML, Markdown, text, and PDF files.
Dedicated Support for PDFs #
Since our browser is built with PyQt6WebEngine, it uses Chromium as its core. Therefore, you can utilize the PDF viewer available in Chromium. Additionally, a .PDF
download option has been added. Don’t worry, our browser is free from the negative impacts of Chromium.
Usability #
Compared to its initial release, our browser is now much more usable. Basic features like tabs, bookmarks, and file opening have not all but most been added.
What’s Been Fixed and Updated? #
Improved Project Structure #
The project structure has been improved, simplified, and packaged for “end users.”
Language Packs Updated #
Minor errors in the language (.json
) packs have been fixed. A key for .pdf
support has been added.
How to Download #
I’ve explained how to download it in this blog post.
Thank you for reading, have a great day!
